SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMMITTEE

The Ideal Teachers’ Training Academy, with almost ratio of 70% female student-teachers,’every year, set up the Sexual Harassment Committee to address any such possible issues. Faculty from Social Work Department is made to be the co-ordinator of the committee, keeping in view the relative expertise of the Academic insights.
The committee will be update of the National Anti-Violence & Sexual Harassment Helpline at 1800-777-0000 or 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) for 24hr support. The committee will continue to mediate the National Commission for Women at broader spectrum while it will optimise its reach and seeking support from Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW), if there be any case. The Committee will follow the guidelines and procedures provided by the state government to prevent and stop cases sexual harassment.  
Awareness programmes and workshops related to sexual harassment were being organised and more are in the pipeline. So far there has not been any reported case/incident of sexual harassment in the institution. Both Male and female faculties from Social Work Department &B.Ed Department, the committee members constituted as follows (One Male Faculty & Four Female Faculties) :

ANTI - RAGGING CELL

The anti-ragging committee of the Ideal Teachers’ Training Academy was constituted in view of redressing any shorts of ragging of the student trainees by their counterparts. To enable proper counselling, Faculty with psychology specialisation is made to be the co-ordinator, assisted by team from social-work and other teacher’s education Department.   
The committee aims to adhere with the National Anti-Ragging Helpline number- 1800-180-5522 and also will try seek support and guidance from UGC Monitoring Agency, also known as Centre for Youth (C4Y), through the following numbers

INTERNAL COMPLAINT COMMITTEE

The internal grievance redressal Committee is headed by the Vice-Principal of the institute for effective mediation of the challenges with the College Governing Body. Regular monthly meetings with student representatives of Alumni Committee, along with the student-teachers in general have been held to address challenges and prospects of the institution. * The overall resolutions of all Committee meetings are duly submitted to College Management Body, thereby providing instructions for needful follow up actions. The committees are expected to honour the decisions and instructions of the Management Committee, in preview of the institution’s welfare. The harmony of the committees with the students, balanced with transparent mediation to Governing Body of the college has been the sole criterion for smooth functioning of the institution till date.


ABOUT THE RTI(RIGHT TO INFORMATION) ACT

Educational institutions, particularly those funded or recognized by the government (e.g., schools, colleges, and universities), fall under Section 4(1)(b) and Section 2(h) of the RTI Act, and they must provide information unless exempt under Section 8.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) mandates all universities and colleges (funded by it) to comply with RTI provisions. They must have a designated Public Information Officer (PIO) to handle RTI queries.

The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, empowers citizens to request information from public authorities, promoting transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.
